5 Small Businesses You’ll Want To Know About
Being a creature of habit, I have always had a handful of stores (both big and small) that I like to go to religiously for specific things so the idea of shopping elsewhere and experimenting with new products or brands isn’t always the most exciting, I totally get it. It’s kinda like the phrase, If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But what if I tell you there are some small businesses that you can not only support but that you will absolutely love!
As new small business owners, we have definitely experienced the struggle that 2020 has been and we just launched a few months ago so we can’t even imagine what other businesses are going through. Small and local businesses don’t usually have as much of a solid savings that they can fall back on during a long term crisis so whether it is supporting your local pizza place, buying from online or local boutiques, or in-home services, consider going small.
I found this gem of a swimwear brand years ago while scrolling through Instagram and we have been going strong ever since. I would say 90% of my bikinis are from her shop and they are hands down my favorite as far as fit and quality goes. All of the bikinis are made with different prints for every season and the styles and cuts are changed slightly.
Their materials are buttery, double layered, and so so durable. I also love that you can buy the top and bottom separately because my top to bottom ratio is way off so I could never find the perfect fit for both. I know they have done holiday sales before so you might want to check them out during black friday weekend.
CLYQUE was founded in LA by Lily Adel, an LA stylist and also owner of ELLE A boutique. It started off as a bodysuit company and they have recently added some new dresses to their collection. When I tell you, you NEED these bodysuits in your life I mean it. They are everything you would want in a bodysuit — sleek, comfortable, flattering, perfect fitting, AND have a thong bottom (which is a must for me)
These will make staple pieces in your wardrobe that you will style a million different ways to create effortless but polished looks. I am a sucker for good basics and these quickly became a favorite of mine. From the one shoulder to classic tees to adjustable thin straps styles, I definitely need one of each! All of the pieces are available in black, white, and nude.
This curated home decor brand gives me all of the dreamy boho vibes. From woven straw hats, to pillows, to vases, all of their collections are handmade made by artisans with love and they carry a story behind it. If I could take one of each piece from their site I would. It is seriously home decor heaven and they make all of my Pinterest dreams come to life!
When it comes to home decor, there is nothing more satisfying to me than looking at perfectly styled shelves that serve absolutely no purpose. Oh you mean that beautiful coffee table book with a stool holding up a vase? Yeah don't touch it, thanks!
+LUX UNFILTERED was created by lifestyle blogger Sivan Ayla (a must follow if you don’t already) in an attempt to replicate her filtered tan that she always rocks on IG in real life. She first launched with N°32 which is a gradual self-tanning cream that will not only give you a natural looking bronze but will also hydrate your skin. It is infused with shea butter, cocoa butter, and passion fruit oil, which also helps give your skin an instant dewy and bronzy glow.
This product was a game changer for me because it doesn’t get patchy as the tan starts to wear off. I just use it every other day to maintain a continuous, subtle tan without worrying about steaks, patchiness, or looking orange. Sivan recently launched her second product in the LUX UNFILTERED line which are N°12 Bronzing Face Drops. I have yet to try these drops but if they work anywhere close the body cream, I’m in!
Lilah Lifestyle Co. is a small business that sells hand curated home decor and lifestyle goods. They carry everything from palo santo holders, trinket dishes, kitchen goods, all the way to pillows & throws. The brand has a very earthy and rustic vibe so it will add a very cozy and home-y feel to any room in the house.
Every time I go on their website, it makes me want to completely re-decorate my coffee table and shelves, its a problem. The only downside is that they have very limited quantities of each item (which is also a plus) so you’ll have to go on their site as soon as things drop if you want to snag something!
We’re always on the hunt for small businesses to support so share some of your favorite ones in the comments!
If you are a small business owner, leave your website and IG so we can check it out!
